1. Functional leading the team of developers:
a. Establishes a technical vision with the development team and works with developers to turn it into reality
b. Is a coach for everybody. Learning is a big part of the job
c. Can choose the language suitable for the project
d. Determining project requirements and developing work schedules for the team
e. Updating work schedules and performing troubleshooting as required
2. Teacher for the team:
a. Delegating tasks and achieving daily, weekly, and monthly goals
b. Analyzing existing operations and scheduling training sessions and meetings to discuss improvements
c. Motivating staff and creating a space where they can ask questions and voice their concerns
d. Determining project requirements and developing work schedules for the team.
3. Participating in developing backend:
a. Reviewing code
b. Knows the stack and at least code for 30% himself
4. Responsible for the quality of its technical deliverables
a. Liaising with team members, management, and clients to ensure projects are completed to standard
b. Identifying risks and forming contingency plans as soon as possible
c. Keeping up-to-date with industry trends and developments
d. Writing progress reports and delivering presentations to the relevant stakeholders
You are experienced in working with Java (SCALA is a pre), a microservice structure, play framework, PostgreSQL and JavaFX or willing to learn.
You enjoy coding yourself (at least 30%) and learning the team to have a positive contribution to the development of our product.
You are familiar with the tools and standards we use for software development; Confluence and Jira (or other similar tools) and of course Scrum and Agile.
You are an important part for building a new development team. You will code yourself, but also as a Lead Developer, you carry out code reviews to assess the quality of our platform and thus of the development team.
You think along about the best way to solve technical challenges and you give clear and constructive feedback. In this way, you advice the developers on the best technical strategies and methods and let them learn and grow. Not only to get the product working at that moment but also to continuously improve the scalability, reliability and performance of the platform.

Location: working from home and once a week in Belgium or the Netherlands
Salary Lead Developer: € 75.000,- a year (based on full-time employment)
